In our first visit, we discuss your main health concerns and goals in great detail. We also discuss your health history, family history, and review all body systems to get a full picture of you and your overall health. We will discuss your initial individualized treatment plan, which will continue to grow and evolve over the course of your follow up appointments.
30 – 60 minutes
Dr. Emily recommends a follow-up appointment 2-4 weeks after your initial appointment. During this appointment, we will look closely at your diet, complete relevant physical exams, and follow up on your treatment plan. This appointment gives us time to make any necessary adjustments to the initial treatment plan. It is very important to Dr. Emily that you are completely on board with the treatment plan and that you understand the rationale behind it. Dr. Emily wants you to feel empowered to follow through with it and make the lifestyle changes that will lead to overall health and wellness.
15 – 60 minutes
Dr. Emily recommends monthly follow ups for the first 3 months to ensure you have excellent support as you begin your treatment plan. Future follow ups will be individualized based on your unique health concerns and the amount of support you prefer.
Dr. Emily encourages you to focus on prevention and wellness instead of waiting until your child comes down with a cold, flu, or other illness before bringing them in for a visit. Dr. Emily will assess your child’s physical and developmental health to ensure they maintain optimal wellness throughout childhood. Dr. Emily recommends well-child checks every 3-6 months for the first 2 years of life and then yearly after age 2.
15 – 30 minutes
Regular seasonal visits are the best way to ensure optimal health and prevention of future illnesses! Visit Dr. Emily for a check up at the beginning of each season and she will help you stay on track with your healthy lifestyle and diet habits, as well as offer advice to keep you well throughout the upcoming season.
15 – 30 minutes
Dr. Emily believes strongly that lifelong health begins in the womb. Therefore, she recommends regular check-ins throughout the pre-natal period to keep you and your baby as healthy as possible. Dr. Emily suggests at least 1 visit in each of the following periods: pre-conception, trimesters 1 to 3, and postpartum, which is often referred to as the fourth trimester. Since each of these periods brings with them physical and emotional changes, Dr. Emily encourages all new moms to seek this preventative support.
A natural aspect of a follow-up session
With every new patient, Dr. Emily performs a nutritional assessment. This will likely take place in your first or second follow up appointment. First of all, she will assess your current diet by looking at an average week to determine the nutritional status of the foods you’re eating and the likelihood of nutrient deficiencies. She will then make recommendations individualized to your specific health concerns and goals. You will work together to find a balanced diet that will optimize your health but also be practical for your lifestyle.
Dr. Emily offers acupuncture as a treatment option. It is an effective way to identify and treat acute and chronic imbalances that are present in the body. Acupuncture is beneficial for a wide range of health concerns including pain, digestive concerns, menstrual irregularities, infertility, mood and mental health issues, insomnia, and low energy. Acupuncture treatments are included in the cost of a visit with Dr. Emily and can be claimed as part of your naturopathic insurance coverage.
